You thought I’d forgotten this series didn’t you! But I don’t quit that easily. You can find the rest of the series I am slowly putting together in a delinquent and disorganized manner by clicking on the “Fear of Man Series” tag on this post. One day it may stand complete. Concerning the Fear of Man, Part V: A Disharmony of the Gospels
Now that we’ve looked at the Fear of Man in Proverbs, I want to do the same through the Gospels, finding relevant passages and noting some basic interpretation of them. It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle. The door opened on to a tubeshaped hall like a tunnel: a very comfortable tunnel without smoke, with panelled walls, and floors tiled and carpeted, provided with polished chairs, and lots and lots of pegs for hats and coats – the hobbit was fond of visitors.
